In recognition of Veterans Day, LogiCore will be closed Friday, November 11.
November is traditionally a month of giving thanks. And in regards to armed forces, November is a month to recognize those who sacrifice for our country every day—not only with Veterans Day, but with Military Family Month and Veteran Caregiver Month as well. We give thanks to our veterans. We also recognize the military families and veteran caregivers who stand with, and support, our military.
The world first celebrated Armistice Day in 1919 to celebrate a year since the allies and Germany signed the armistice, ending World War I. The day was meant to show gratitude for the heroism of those who served in WWI. The idea to expand Armistice Day to include all veterans was first proposed by Alabama native, Raymond Weeks, a World War II veteran. He led the first national Veterans Day celebration in 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1954, Veterans Day was officially signed into law.
97 years later, we come together to give thanks and show our unending pride in our veterans who’ve dedicated their lives to our armed forces.
You can show your appreciation for our men and women in uniform by attending Veterans Day events in your area, spending time with a veteran, or simply writing them a letter saying “thank you”. You can also donate your resources—even an old car!—through services like The Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation. There are plenty of ways individuals and organizations can say “thank you” today and any other day in the year.
Huntsville, Alabama throws an annual Veterans Day parade downtown. This year’s will be from 11 am to 1 pm. You can see the parade route here.
LogiCore is proud of our Veterans and is grateful for their dedicated service. LogiCore also gives a special thanks to the families and caregivers of our men and women in uniform for their sacrifices.
